UMLÄUT 2020 - THE PANDEMIC ISSUE

DISTANCE
Leela Sriram

I’ve always felt like the dandelions patches,
In mothers meadow, yards upon yards away
From eachother.
Living in their own colonies,
Shut off from the rest of the world,
And distant to everyone but their own.

I am a dandelion colony,
Hidden behind a virtual reality,
In my own dandelion patch of bliss
And serenity,
Distant from the inequities
Of life.
