Eating Age

Mama made me Sinigang.
It's warm
like my heart.

I'm the chopped Eggplant being swirled in the pot,
the sabow is warm and comforting.

Hope I can stay like that.

I learned that the base of adobo—
Or any filipino food really—
Is:
● Onion
● And Garlic
Breathing in that scent
It's strong and stands out
Two scents mix like colors to make a
new color

Hope I can learn to do that

Spam, Egg, and Rice
is like seeing the old playground I played at.
Though there individually more like
Elementary School, Rice
Plain, basic, staple.
Middle School, Spam
Made in the worse time, a struggle, but something easy to make
High School, Egg
Full of nutrients, hardy, can be made in different ways.
They're all so different.
Yet I always eat them together.

I hope I find connection in many different ways.

Just let me now be
plain and boring
Like Rice and Soy Sauce.
